WHAT TO EXPECT

All children respond to swim lessons differently. Many children will adjust quickly and love the water. Others will be hesitant to learn and uneasy with certain aspects of the lesson (e.g., getting their eyes wet, floating on their back and swimming without support). Some children may cry and get upset, but this is normal. Even a crying child will learn to swim with encouragement and practice.

Again, every child learns differently and many factors affect each child’s swimming progression. Even if your child is a fast learner, multiple lessons help to reinforce newly acquired skills and help to increase their confidence in and around the water.

All parents are encouraged to watch lessons from the side of the pool to provide encouragement. However, we may ask you to walk away for a moment to help us calm your child down. If you have any questions please ask the instructor at the end of lesson so you can practice with your child.
